Walk To Emmaus

The “Walk to Emmaus” is a 72-hour experience with Jesus At the “walk,”you will spend three busy but very enjoyable days, in retreat. You will shut out the earthly world, which allows you to devote 100% to Jesus. You will experience God’s grace personally through prayers and acts of service. You will be inspired, challenged, and equipped to be prepared for Christian action in your homes, churches, and places of work.

Key Aspects of the Walk to Emmaus:

*The Experience: A 72-hour, Thursday-to-Sunday weekend aimed at renewing spiritual life and forming Christian disciples.

*Purpose: To inspire participants to return to their families, churches, and communities with a renewed commitment to Christian service.

*Structure: Includes talks from laity and clergy, singing, worship, small group discussions.
Participation: Open to members of any Christian denomination, with separate weekends for men and women.

*Sponsorship: Participants (called “pilgrims”) must be sponsored by someone who has previously attended a Walk to Emmaus.

*Origin: Based on the biblical story in Luke 24:10-34, where Jesus walks with two disciples on the road to Emmaus.

*The retreat focuses on God’s grace, Christian growth, and community, often supported by a local “Emmaus Community” that provides prayer and service throughout the weekend.
